‘Dogs to Face Another
Section IX Team
The Bulldogs will try to go 2-0 for the first time since 2001 when they host section IX’s TriValley on Saturday at Delhi’s Dave Kelly Field.
TriValley,
the defending section IX class C champion, is coming off an impressive 39-6 win
over class B Ellenville this past weekend. Running back Danny Knox ran for 152
yards on 15 carries with a touchdown. Knox ran for better than 1300 yards a
year ago as a primarily outside runner. QB Joe Garigliano completed 7 of 11
passes for 81 yards and 2 TD’s, and also had a rushing TD. TriValley’s line is
somewhat inexperienced, but Knox appears to be a very talented back, and
TriValley will want a bit of revenge against section IV following last year’s
62-0 loss to Walton in the opener.
Delhi
is coming off of a strong opener where Brenton Hood and Nate Rockefeller
both scored 3 TD’s. Delhi’s defense should be up to the task of facing Knox as
they held Sullivan West to just 48 yards rushing on Saturday, and possess
pretty good speed on the outside.
