Delhi Heads West for Non-League Matchup
The Bulldogs begin a 2 week break from division play with
a game against struggling Newark
Valley.
Newark
Valley has started the season
at 0-3, with losses to Waverly, Harpursville, and Watkins Glen. They have been
outscored 13-84, including last week’s 14-0 shutout at the hands of Glen. The
Cardinals did manage to put a runner over 100 yards however, with Brad Allen
rushing 19 times for 104 yards. Newark
Valley completed just 2
of 20 pass attempts for 11 yards and 2 interceptions.
Delhi’s
defense will look to stay the course, as it has allowed just 168 yards per
game. Brenton Hood will look to add to his 503 yard
rushing total, and the rest of the team looks to get back on track after
running for over 400 yards the first 2 games.
Delhi last played Newark Valley
in 2000, with Rick Luchetta’s 2 TD’s
leading Delhi
to a 28-6 win.
