1989
Record: 2-7
Key
Players:
Mike Scheck (C/LB), John Way (T/DT), Jonah Shaw (TB/DB), Chris Demeo (FB/DE),
Matt Sohns (QB)
Highlights: The Bulldogs endure a
difficult year of mistakes and underachievement. Hope from a promising scrimmage
gives way to despair as the ‘Dogs lose the first 5 games of the season. New hope
is found in week 6 when the Bulldogs take on a quality Sidney team and earn
their first victory in a close, high scoring game. Senior Jonah Shaw emerged as
a serious threat running for more than 200 yards and 10 yards per carry, with
lightning quickness through the hole. The boys then lost a close game at Watkins
Glen before a big win over Harpursville, another 200 yard game for Shaw. The
season closed with a 30-0 loss to state ranked Hancock with D1 recruit Elbert
Allen.
