1987
Record: 7-2
Key Players: Fran Pardee (TB/DB), Kevin
Baldwin (FB/LB), Jahn Greenfield (QB), Mike Manning (WR), Jay Wilson (WR/DB),
Ross Pratt (OT/DT)
Highlights: Delhi has a very strong
season but ends a 34 game winning streak (currently longest in Section IV) with
a narrow loss at Sherburne-Earlville. The ‘Dogs are still in a position to
potentially take the division title, but Walton breaks a close game open in the
second half with a 40-20 victory. Walton went on to Bowl and regional game
victories. The Bulldogs got much success on the season behind the running of
Fran Pardee and the strong arm of Jahn Greenfield passing to Mike Manning and
speedster Jay Wilson. The Greenfield/Manning combination was particularly
effective against Sidney, where Greenfield showed repeated pinpoint accuracy on
the way to a 60-6 Delhi victory.
